Eduardo Roca Salazar (Choco)

Choco is like his painting, delicate and at the same time expansible, full of lights and shades and seductive by nature.?? His seduction forces us to savor with fruition his pictures, to dive in the rubber and the cellulose, to lean on in the wood and the linoleum, in the metal and the vinyl. He takes us by the hand to a world where the aromas of tropical fruits captivate us. He take us to a world where arms and legs of bodies mix in their ethnicity to affirm the identity values of the island.?? ??
Nobody try to decipher the mystery of his painting - that one is submerged in the artist's heart. However, the essence of the Cuban element.

Colour and rhythm of Cuba
Choco is an accomplished leader amongst the artists of Cuba's first post-revolutionary generation, trained in the 1960s. As part of its sweeping political and cultural changes, the new Cuban state set out to find and teach artists from the masses. Choco learned engraving and lithography as well as oil painting but it is as a master of collography that he is most famous, a technique that has a political role in Cuban art.
